About us
Cenntro Automotive Europe is a German company based in Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia (until March 2022 known as TROPOS MOTORS EUROPE GmbH). The company, which was formed from the cooperation of the Cenntro Electric Group and the MOSOLF Group, manufactures electric commercial vehicles in various classes and for a wide range of applications for the markets of Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA).
History
In 2019, the MOSOLF Group founded Tropos Motors Europe GmbH to manufacture and distribute in Europe a new class of compact electric commercial vehicles for a wide range of applications.
Production started in Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in April 2020. The compact electric van (at that time known as "Able") is marketed through a dealer network in Europe and via direct sales. Service is provided by the dealers and Flying Doctors from Cenntro Automotive Europe.
In March 2022, Cenntro Electric acquired a majority interest of Tropos Motors Europe to expand European assembly capability and distribution networks in EMEA and adds a strategic customer network in Europe. Tropos Motors Europe was than renamed to Cenntro Automotive Europe GmbH, based in Herne, Germany.
